Listening to God’s voice is one step. The next is to follow it. 2003 our life began, fulfilling and still fulfilling that vision to found a sisterhood that shares the love and joy of the gospel message. Through the Years tracks some key moments and events thus far!

The Sisterhood needs to begin now
Sr. Anna hears a calling and approaches the Companions of the Cross to form an associated sisterhood to their community. Sr. Monique joins Sr. Anna in August.   Our first home was in the heart of Little Italy, Ottawa on Pamilla Street.

Sr. Anna and Sr. Monique, as advised by Fr. Bob Bedard, CC, move to 27 Irving Ave. to allow space for women to visit, and for the Community to grow.

Big steps in their commitment to the Community
Sr. Anna and Sr. Monique profess their first promises at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary.  Their promises are received by Fr. Bob Bedard, CC.

Blessing of the Habit
Sr. Monique and Sr. Anna meet with Archbishop Marcel Gervais of Ottawa diocese seeking a new paternal relationship between the Diocese and the new Community.Â

Welcome Archbishop Terrence Prendergast!
Archbishop Gervais retires and is succeeded by Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, SJ.   Sr. Anna congratulates him after his installation Mass.   This is the start of a long-standing relationship between the Community and His Grace.

Eggs and Fellowship Legacy
After Sunday Mass, we gather family and friends  in fellowship over a nice hot meal for brunch. No one ever walks away hungry. Â

Blessings from the Lord!
Our Community is elevated canonically to Private Association of Christian Faithful, recognized at a different level within the Roman Catholic Church.Â

Our new digs in Ottawa
The Community finds a new home and moves into the rectory of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary parish.Â

Happy 10th Anniversary!
Amongst 140 of our closest friends and family we had a great sit down dinner at St. Maurice parish. Tons of singing and a fun program where we even had Fr. Terry Donahue, CC wearing a top hat and suit!Â

Moving again!
Our 3rd move. This time we move into two homes connected by a portable. A big thanks to the sisters of l'Institut Jeanne d’Arc who opened their home to us for the next 3 years.

Our first home!
After much searching and discernment, on the feast of St. Joseph, we found our current home.  It’s our first home! Great space. Huge backyard with an apple tree and garden. Wonderful neighbours. Â

Best Days Ever!
Our Community was elevated to a Public Association of the Christian Faithful, a mighty step for the Community.  And then in May 2018, Sr. Anna Chan, Sr. Monique Bisson, and Sr. Melinda Schenher professed their final promises.

Time flies!
We celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Community with Mass at St. Maurice and lunch with friends. After all the celebrations, we visited, Fr. Bob Bedard’s tomb, in thanksgiving. Â

Sr. Michael Penelope makes her final promises, becoming the 4th lifetime member of our Community.Â

Archbishop Prendergast, SJ retires, and Sr. Anna and Sr. Melinda meet the new Archbishop Marcel Damphousse after he is installed as the new Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall Diocese.

Sisters growing in their mission to share the gospel message
The Sisterhood continues strong on the path set out for us from the Lord.  We thank Him for the women he has sent us and will continue to send us in the future.
