We see how important it is to be steeped in prayer in order to better serve others. We acknowledge the importance of listening to the Lord's word, and we strive to always seek and ask Him for it when making decisions.
Whether we are alone with the Lord or at the centre of the ‘marketplace', prayer is the root, heart, and lifeline in all we do. We are committed to a rhythm in our prayer life on a daily, weekly, and annual basis. We seek to encounter Christ in our personal and communal prayer. We exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit to whom we are continually open.
As Fr. Bob says, our personal relationship with God flows from
... a commitment from me to spend daily time with him. It is only in this way that he can effectively deal with me, straighten me out when I need it, and keep me reasonably on track. Jesus calls us into friendship with him, with the Father and with the Holy Spirit. To be friends, we have to spend time together.
-(Fr. Bob Bedard, We are called to be Companions of the Cross, 1994)
Our prayer life is a response to His desire to be united with us and we seek to attain this union with Him through the victory of His Cross.
The Servants of the Cross are dedicated to Intercessory Prayer. We invite you to send your special intentions.
